Best Mexican Food in Memphis

The best Mexican food in Memphis is, hands down, Las Delicias.  If you haven't been, stop what you are doing right now and head over there.  This is not a typical Mexican restaurant.  Everything is super fresh and simple, but very flavorful.  It it also very inexpensive.  Every entree is under ten bucks and a lot of them are under five.  They also have good, cheap, cold beer (always a plus).  The margaritas, however, are a bit on the pricey side.  But they are THE BEST MARGARITAS EVER!  Seriously.  They don't use a mix, they juice their own limes, and it makes a huge difference.  A new location has just opened up in East Memphis, but the original is at 4002 Park Avenue.  I have had pretty much everything on the menu and it's all super yummy.

Outrageously crispy chips and peppery salsa.

Jumbo margaritas.  Treat yo self!

I almost always order a Torta.  They are all about $5, and they are so good.  Get an order of pico de gallo on the side (for 50 cents extra)

The Hawaiian Torta is my new favorite.  Ham, cheese, pineapple, refried beans, avocado, tomato, onion, and jalepeno on a hollowed out hoagie (hoagie is a bad word for this bread, it is banging).  Then I add pico de gallo and both of their signature sauces, pictured below.

Make sure they bring out the sauces!  One is a salsa verde and the other is a chipotle sauce.  I always add both to whatever I order.

Tacos Alambre.  This is my husband's and my brother's favorite thing on the menu.  Steak, bacon, onions, peppers, a grilled jalepeno (beware, it's super hot), and a ton of corn tortillas.  Olie gets it without cheese, but it normally is smothered in melty cheese.
