Victorian Village Revival

On Sunday afternoon my church choir sang at the Victorian Village Revival.  This was a really fun event.  The buildings in this area are phenomenal.  If any of you have been to Molly Fontaine's, then you know how amazing this area is.  I'm happy to say that two members of my church choir are converting the Lee Fontaine Carriage House into a bed and breakfast!  After we sang, the whole choir was given a tour of the place.  It's definitely a work in progress, but the building is so beautiful.  A lot of the original molding and light fixtures are still in tact, so hopefully some of the interior will be preserved.  I took a ton of pictures inside, but a lot of them were blurry.  However, I think you can still get a sense of how fabulous it is by the few that I posted here.

Another view of the future bed and breakfast.  Below are some detail shots and some interior shots.

  1. Molly Fontaine's is awesome. Also, why didn't we do all this cool stuff when I still lived in Memphis? We need to have tons of fun over Thanksgiving.

  2. In answer to the comment above, because you worked weird hours.

Now, best wishes to those who are taking on this project! What an amazing home! I applaud all of those who seek to preserve these great beauties.

  3. Thank you all so much for performing at our event, it was amazing!
    Love the photos too.

  4. Just keep coming back to gaze upon these stunning ladies. They just don't make 'em like they used to. And even though these homes are a money pit, it is so worthwhile to preserve them.

  5. And it must be true. Memphis is getting cooler. At least your blog posts sure make it seem that way. Thanks for highlighting some of the many truly wonderful things about this unique city.
